What should I expect in the first session?

In the first session, we'll discuss your reasons for seeking therapy and your goals. I'll also ask about your background and any current challenges you're facing. This initial meeting is a chance for us to get to know each other and to establish a comfortable, trusting relationship.

How long does each therapy session last?

Each therapy session typically lasts 50-60 minutes. The frequency and duration of therapy will depend on your specific needs and goals, which we will discuss during our initial sessions.

Do you offer virtual therapy sessions?

Yes, I offer both in-person and virtual therapy sessions to accommodate different preferences and needs. Virtual sessions are conducted via a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform to ensure your privacy and confidentiality. Virtual therapy sessions are only available to those inside the state of North Carolina.

What is your cancellation policy?

I require a minimum of 24 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling. This allows me to offer the slot to another client in need. Late cancellations or no-shows may incur a fee of the full session rate.

If the client is a minor, who needs to attend the intake and additional sessions?

Parental or guardian consent must be given before the clinician can meet with the client. Typically, the parent/guardian will attend the first session with the child. Depending on the clinician and child, it will be determined how often the parent/guardian attends sessions with the child moving forward. All parents/guardians are encouraged to play a part in their child’s mental health treatment plan.

What does the space look like for when I arrive? Is there free parking?

Rebel Counseling is conveniently located just off Biltmore Avenue near the hospital, within the Doctors Park complex. You'll find ample free parking in the lot surrounding the office. Our office is situated on the second floor of Building 5. Please note that there is no elevator access, so the office is accessible only by stairs.
